Here are some of the more popular hiking trails on the island.

• Tow Hill/ Blowhole Trail: The Tow Hill / Blowhole Trail is the most used trail on the islands. It starts off from the Tow Hill Provincial Park Parking lot to the Tow Hill Picnic Area (about 100 meters). From the Picnic Area the trail follows one of the two well marked routes.
  1. Tow Hill Trail: This trail is a 1km steep climb along a good boardwalk trail. Along the way to the top there are 2 viewing platforms and once you reach the top, a breath-taking scene is waiting for you! It is said that you can see the Alaskan Panhandle if the weather is good enough. Half way up this trail you can change your course toward the Blowhole trail if the Tow Hill trail is too difficult.
  2. Blowhole Trail: The Blowhole Trail is a 1km trail which follows the Hiellen River to "the Blowhole", a geological scouring in the rock which when the conditions are right, shoots a tall spray of water many meters in the air. Even if the blowhole is not in effect, you can still enjoy the awsome view that is shown at the end of the trail.
•  Pesuta Shipwreck Trail: This trail is a popular day-use hiking trails created in the Naikoon Provincial Park on Graham Island. This hiking trail is a moderately easy hike that covers 5 km return and should take 2 hours one way to complete based on fitness levels and tides. Return trip should take 4 -6 hours.
• Cape Fife Trail: This trail is for hikers who are ready to get dirty! This Trail has bridges, stumps, fallen logs and forested view points. Most day hikers go as far as they can and turn back because they trail is too long to finish in one day. Nonetheless the Cape Fife Trail is a great place to get dirty and interact with nature.

For those of you who just love golfing, there are 2 golf courses of this island.

1. Willows Golf Course: This golf course provides you with 18 tees to 9 greens on a combination of oceanfront and natural forest terrain. The club also hosts the annual Willows Open mixed tournament in August.
2. Dixon Entrance Golf & Country Club: This golf course has a 9 hole course with 18 different tie boxes. Men's course rating is 64.7 with slope 106 par 65 and the women's course rating is 70.5 with slope 120 par 69.

• Haida Gwaii Museum: This Museum focuses on the islands Natural History and traditional Haida culture. Admission is $5.
• Port Clements Settlers Museum: This museum highlights the European settlement history and industrial history of the area and the Islands. Admission is $2.
• Dixon Entrance Maritime Museum: This useum celebrates Greater Masset's maritime and settlement history. Admission is $2.

As you already know, Haida Gwaii is an Island (obviously!). Since there is water on all 4 sides fishing, Kayaking, and surfing is a big part of this island; especially fishing. Some call this island a "paradise" for those who just love fishing. Many would say you can forget about everything but never forget to buy a fishing license while visiting Haida Gwaii. Also kayaking and surfing is becoming a great attraction for those who enjoy spending time in the water.
